„Applause and Bravos for The Wave Quartet“
„Until now, the Marimba concert repertoire was limited. That will change. The Wave Quartet (Bogdan Bacanu, Christoph Sietzen, Emiko Uchiyama, and Vladi Petrov) gets accepted suprisingly well in the classic stage as well as in the area of pop. Two Bach concertos were first played as a duo, then as a quartet: „Concerto for harpsichord, strings and basso continuo no. 1 d minor, BWV 1052 „and“ Concerto for two harpsichords, strings and basso continuo C major, BWV 1061 „. How do you arrange such pieces? „Not at all, we play every tone as it is in the score“ is the response of the founder of the quartet Bogdan Bacanu, who has taught as a university professor all three of his current colleagues. We switch synchronously the voices between each other and we do not arrange J.S. Bach for Marimba, but Marimba for Bach. The result is fascinating. But to watch the players in their dancer-acrobatic action, it’s a sensation. It is impossible not to listen to them (…) The Applause and braces for The Wave Quartet reached record height.“
